Scope
MAJN aims to publish all articles related to neurological disorders across various subspecialties, health policy and planning that pertain predominantly to the Middle East and African region.
Global Submissions Welcome: Articles from other parts of the world are also highly encouraged.
Open Access Policy
MAJN is an open access journal. Published materials will be made available free of charge to allow perpetual unrestricted online access to readers globally, immediately upon publication.
- APC is charged upon acceptance of manuscript
- Payment should be made within 30 days
- Members and annual subscribers: APC fees waived
Manuscript Preparation
General Guidelines
- Manuscript should be written in English
- Double-spaced with page numbers at the bottom
- Write full term for each abbreviation at first use
- Check for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors
Title Page
The title page should include:
- Complete manuscript title
- Authors' full names, highest academic degrees, and affiliations
- Corresponding author's contact details (fax, phone, email)
- Short title (max 45 characters) for running head
- Date of submission

Subheads: Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusions

List 3 to 5 keywords after the abstract.

Figures, Tables & Media
Figures
- Cite figures in numerical order (Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.)
- Submit as separate files: JPEG, TIFF, GIF, EPS, or PPT format
- Do not embed figures in the Word manuscript file
- Include figure legends on a separate page after references
Video & Animations
Tables
- Create using your word processor's table feature
- Type each table with a title on a separate page
- Place tables after Figure Legends in the main manuscript
- Spell out all abbreviations at first use in tables
References
- Authors are responsible for accuracy of references
- Number references serially in text using unparenthesized superscripts: 1,4,7-9
- List on a separate page at end of paper in order first cited
Submission & Peer Review
All manuscripts should be submitted through our online submission system.
The Review Process

Initial Review
Editors review for suitability. Manuscripts with insufficient originality or serious flaws are rejected before formal review.

Peer Review
Single-blinded peer-review by 1-3 external reviewers.

Revision
Authors provide point-by-point response to reviewer comments and submit revised version.

Acceptance
Manuscripts are copy edited for grammar, punctuation, and format before publication.
